What we do at AS+E

At Applied Sciences and Engineering, we develop advanced technology to support the development of biofuels from algae. We are currently working with several promising strains of algae, growing them in our custom designed bioreactors. Our technology development is geared toward maximizing the productivity and yield of those reactors. We do this by determining the lipid content and biomass of the colony in-situ and real time, using our innovative measurement technology.

Why Algae?

Algae has been identified as one of the foremost runners in the search for sustainable and renewable energy. It yields much greater oil per hectare per year than any other known species.

Our technology will:

•             Improve Lipid Productivity
•             Increase Process Consistency
•             Provide Greater Process Understanding
•             Save Time on Sampling and Analysis
•             Reduce Chance of Infection from unwanted species
•             Improve Process Confidence
